Understanding the core concepts behind ACI Platform helps you configure campaigns correctly and interpret results with confidence. The terms below appear throughout the interface and documentation — familiarize yourself with them before you launch your first campaign.

Client Code

A Client Code identifies a specific group of accounts within your portfolio. When you set up a campaign, you select a Client Code to tell ACI Platform which accounts to search. Only accounts linked to the selected Client Code are included in that campaign — accounts under other Client Codes are not affected.
Use Client Codes to segment your outreach by portfolio, product type, or business unit, so each campaign targets exactly the right group of consumers.

Letter Type

A Letter Type determines which email template is sent to consumers in a campaign. Each Letter Type corresponds to a specific piece of content — for example, a payment reminder, a notice of debt, or a settlement offer. When you configure a campaign, you pair a Client Code with a Letter Type to define both who receives the email and what they receive.

Email Campaigns Tab

The Email Campaigns tab is the main dashboard for monitoring the performance of your campaigns at a high level. It displays aggregate metrics for each campaign, including:
  • Total emails sent
  • Emails bounced
  • Emails opened
  • Consumer opt-outs
Use this tab to get a quick picture of campaign health and compare performance across multiple campaigns.

Email Summary Tab

The Email Summary tab displays the Email Log for a selected campaign. Navigate to this tab when you need to drill down from campaign-level totals to individual email-level details.

Email Log

The Email Log is a per-campaign record that lists every email address targeted by a campaign, along with a current status for each address. You access the Email Log through the Email Summary tab. Each entry in the log shows:
The Email Log updates automatically as campaign events occur. You don’t need to refresh it manually — statuses change from Sent to Bounced, Opened, or Opt-Out as events are reported.

Collection Account Status

The Collection Account Status is a status field on each account record in ACI Platform. It mirrors the campaign event history for that account and updates automatically as emails are sent and consumers interact with them. For example, an account’s status moves from Sent to Opened when the consumer opens the email. This field gives your team a quick way to see the most recent email event for any account without opening the full Email Log.

ACI Return File

An ACI Return File is a CSV file that ACI Platform generates after each campaign event. The file captures the updated status data for all accounts affected by that event. Return files are:
  • Saved automatically to the designated ACI Return File folder
  • Distributed to your FTP destination via the Good Sync process (see below)
Return files give your downstream systems — such as collection management software or reporting tools — a structured feed of campaign outcomes to import and act on.

Good Sync

Good Sync is the scheduled background process that finalizes and distributes return files after a campaign event. It performs three actions in sequence:
  1. Analyzes the return file data for accuracy and completeness
  2. Syncs the return files to the ACI Return File folder
  3. Sends the files to your configured FTP destination
Good Sync runs on a schedule, so return files are delivered to FTP automatically without manual intervention.

Campaign Status Values

The table below summarizes every status value you may encounter in the Email Log, on account records, and in return files.
A status of Opt-Out means the consumer has unsubscribed. ACI Platform automatically excludes opted-out consumers from future campaigns — no manual action is required on your part.
